Life has taught me that....
- Acting as if is good enough, and is often the beginning of the real thing.
- Happiness from adventures last longer than possessions.
- People don't have to agree with me to be supportive.
- Anger has to be dealt with or it will betray you.
- Unearthing my authentic self is tougher than I ever imagined.
- If you can't decide what to do, the best thing to do is wait.
- Change is inevitable, so you might as well embrace it or, in fact, encourage it.
- Change makes me crazy, I crave it and yet it still terrifies me.
- If you change your attitude, your life will follow
- Nothing changes if nothing changes. This sadly means that if I want something to be different, I have to do something differently or think something differently
- My curiousity can lead to some amazing discoveries and therefore it is important that I continue to nurture my curiousity.
- Sometimes it's better if I don't get what I want.
- Enough. If I remember to be grateful, I will see that I already have enough, that I am enough.
- Too much expectation gets in the way of experiencing the moment.
- If I don't express my feelings (speak them out, write them out, cry them out, creatively express them) they'll blurt out at the most embarrassing times. It's therefore safer to express them as quickly as I can.
- Fear is a waste of energy; we are powerless over so many things it is pointless to focus on them.
- Feelings are never wrong. Understanding that makes arguing a much pleasanter experience.
- Some things are worth fighting for
- Sometimes you have to get lost to find yourself
- I am fine just the way I am today.
- I may as well forgive now, as I'm eventually going to have to do it to be happy.
- Friendships need to be nurtured.
- There's always time for fun.
- Goals are important, as they help you be clear about what you want. Writing them down helps, as does telling everybody about them. However, its also important not to be completely controlled by them.
- Grief has it's own journey, and it is not the same for people.
- Gratitude is my instant fixer - it really does change my mood (gratitude leads to a good attitude). There is always something to be grateful for. If you can't remember what to be grateful for when you are feeling low, make a list when you're having a good day and leave it somewhere you won't miss on a low day.
- It's not what happens to you that matters, but what matters is what you do with what happens.
- My happiness is my responsibility. It is also a choice.
- I don't have to get what I want to be happy
- If I want help, I need to ask for help. People can't read my mind. People need to be wanted so asking for help is often just as important to the other person.
- There is so many different names, God, Allah, karma, but whatever you call it, there is a higher power looking out for us all. It doesn't matter if you understand this force, it just helps to believe it.
- I am no more important than anybody else. I am no less important than anybody else.
- You can't judge your insides against others outsides. We can never really know what is going on for other people, and your thoughts are just that thoughts.
- I have to be able to laugh at myself or others will laugh at me behind my back.
- That during laughter, nothing else exists
- Laughter really is the best medicine.
- There is always something new to learn.
- If you don't learn the lesson, you'll get it again.
- I can learn the best lessons from the most surprising people. People I don't like, people who irritate me, and people who don't seem that bright.
- The worst lies I tell are the lies I tell myself.
- People often like you because of your weakness. And even more often people can dislike you for your strengths.
- I need to live what I love
- I have a lot to learn
- My mind will always jump to the problems, I need to remind it to jump to the joys
- Miracles happen, I just need to notice them.
- Mistakes happen, no matter how much I struggle with them. It's important to learn from them and you can only do this once you've accepted them.
- I never get more than I can handle, so if I am feeling like that I have to look to see where I am complicating things, where I am contributing to my sense of overwhelm.
- The pain will pass, and you'll find a way to go on. Suffering is a choice.
- Admitting what I am powerless over something helps me to re-group and move on and ends up being my secret weapon.
- Reading about other people's life, whether fact or fiction, helps me to understand my own life that much more.
Smile first – it almost always makes a difference
- The road less travlled is easier when the baggage is lighter
- Saying you're sorry is a great start to making amends, but you have to mean it and you have to be willing to act differently next time.
- It starts with me. If I want something or somebody to be different, I have to make the first move.
- Everyone has something to teach me, especially those I don’t like
- The teacher really does arrive when I'm ready to learn.

- Everyone likes a thank you, and it is the easiest thing to give.
- The way we think, determines who we are and what happens to us.
- It isn’t what you do that matters, but how you treat people in what you
- I don't have to understand everything, and I can even benefit from things I don't really get.
- My weaknesses really can be my strengths
- To begin something new, I don't have to be willing I just have to be willing to be willing.
- It's OK to be wrong.
